Biography
Dr Citro carried out her PhD at University of Naples and a Postgraduate Specialization in Clinical Pathology at University of Rome. Her field of research is finding pharmacological chaperones (PC) to cure rare diseases. Her job consists in the identification of the mutations which can be responsive to chaperones and develop method for assays in vitro in two model systems: The Fabry disease, a lysosomal storage disorder and PMM2-CDG (CDG-Ia) disease, a disorder of glycosylation with no cure at present. Dr Citro was co-author of 17 articles in refereed journals. She was the first author or last author in 6 of these publications. Her researches were presented in national and international congresses and she was invited as speaker at 2 international conferences. (59th Congress of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2017 and Enzymology & Mol. Biology 2017). Dr Citro is dedicated to teaching and the encouragement of young scientists. She has supervised several master thesis and a PhD thesis and has been lecturer for different course at University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Italy.
